Medicaid coverage expansion benefits additional Ohioans and pregnant women
Initiatives proposed by Govenor Stickland provides greater, more affordable access to health care among Ohio's uninsured.
Gov. Strickland’s TurnAround Ohio initiatives have helped expand health care coverage to more Ohioans including pregnant women.
Now, Ohio Medicaid provides health care coverage for pregnant women (of any age) who earn up to 200% of the federal poverty level ($35,208 for a family of three).
In April, 2008, Gov. Stickland proposed several initiatives to expand Ohio's Medicaid program and make coverage more affordable to Ohio's uninsured. These plans include greater coverage for children, a higher qualification limit for pregnant women and extended care for youths coming out of the foster care system.
